Happy Wednesday 🥯! When I started my first job, I noticed that getting feedback on how to improve was less tangible and more infrequent compared to when I was in school. Because, unlike in school, the corporate world does not have a clear quantifiable metric for performance (ie GPA or class grade). So for today’s mini-bagel, I will be sharing the weekly reflection template that I used as a way to provide feedback to myself regularly.

Weekly Reflection Template

Self Reflection
What did I do well?
What can I improve upon?
What did I learn? Are there any observations that I made? If so, what can I do with the learnings?
What made me excited at work? What do I want to avoid in the future?
Project Management Reflection
How am I doing with my projects? Does anything need reprioritization? What do I need to do to accomplish my goals?
What would I like to accomplish before my next meeting with [Manger X]? With [Dotted line manager (project lead, mentor, etc)]?

How to use the weekly reflection template
Set up a weekly 30-minute time block
During this time block, copy the weekly template into a digital doc (word doc, OneNote, etc) and fill it out. Alternatively, print out the weekly template and write your responses
Based on what you wrote, write down any actionable tasks in your to-do list for the upcoming week
If you would like, save the weekly reflections and review on a specific cadence
